RECORDS! Monte Carlo and Adelaide, the rare double

The Monaco Grand Prix is the jewel in the Formula 1 crown, its most prestigious race on one of the toughest street circuits on the schedule.

The track on the streets of Monte Carlo was first used in 1929 and has been part of the Formula One world championship every year since 1955.

Three drivers dominated in Monaco in the years that corresponded with the Adelaide Grand Prix (1985 to 1995): Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.

Senna holds the record for the most wins in Monaco with six, including five in a row. He and Prost were the only drivers to win the Monaco Grand Prix and Adelaide Grand Prix in the same season. Prost achieved the feat in 1986 and 1988 and Senna in 1991 and 1993.
