FLASHBACK! Touring-car duel in the wet

Wet conditions on the Saturday of the 1994 Adelaide Grand Prix produced arguably the best touring-car race in the history of the event.

John Bowe (pictured above) won the race from pole position, but he had to hold off the fast-charging Larry Perkins in the closing stages.

Perkins fought through from ninth on the grid to challenge Bowe on the drying track, with the pair going side-by-side for most of the final lap.

The race also included an opening-lap multi-car crash, a wild spin for Mark Skaife and a tangle between Dick Johnson and Alan Jones.
