VIDEO! The sights and sounds of Formula 1 in 1985

The turbo-charged Formula 1 of the 1980s is remembered as a golden era for the sport.

1985 marks the boom time for turbos, with all teams opting for the engine technology over the course of the season.

The 1985 season also saw Alain Prost score a breakthrough world championship victory; Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell win races for the first time; Niki Lauda retire from Formula 1; the introduction of in-race onboard cameras; and, most importantly for us, the debut of the Adelaide Grand Prix.
