Thirty years since his Formula 1 world championship win, Nigel Mansell reunited with the 1992 Williams FW14B Renault at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Mansell dominated the 1992 Formula 1 season, winning nine of 16 races to claim a long-awaited championship win. The British driver became the first driver in Formula 1 history to win nine races in a single season, sealing the title with five races still remaining. However, the season ended in an infamous collision with McLaren’s Ayrton Senna at the Adelaide Grand Prix.
The Adrian Newey-designed FW14B is considered one of the most technologically sophisticated cars to have raced in Formula 1, featuring a semi-automatic transmission, active suspension, traction control and anti-lock brakes.
