The Adelaide Motorsport Festival returns to Victoria Park on March 25 and 26; bringing Formula 1 cars back to the Adelaide Street Circuit.
The event is a celebration of all things motoring and motorsport, held on a shortened version of the Adelaide Street Circuit (the Victoria Park section that hosted the Adelaide Grand Prix).
The Adelaide Motorsport Festival returns after a five-year absence, running from 2014 to 2018 before the loss of government support. The current South Australian Labor government backed the return of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival in addition to the Adelaide 500, with the Adelaide Motorsport Festival locked in the week before the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
The on-track demonstrations at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival are headlined by classic Formula 1 cars, with a dozen Adelaide Grand Prix-era cars taking to the track in four sessions across the weekend.
This includes a pair of 1985 Ferrari 156/85s (pictured above) and 1989 Brabham BT58 Judds; the 1992 Brabham BT60 Judd that never made it to that season’s Adelaide Grand Prix; fan favourites the 1986 Benetton B186 BMW and 1989 Leyton House CG891 Judd; and more.
Stefan Johansson gets back behind the wheel of the 1985 Ferrari 156/85, while Supercars drivers such as Craig Lowndes and Tim Slade will be amongst the drivers of the other cars.
